Who We Are

Ilana Schauer, Esq.

Ilana Schauer is an associate at Kermisch & Paletz LLP and was admitted to practice law for the State of California in 2013. Before becoming a lawyer, Ilana worked as a therapist with special needs children. Ilana is fluent in Russian.

Ilana attended Pepperdine Law School in Los Angeles, California where she earned her Juris Doctor Degree in 2013. Ilana was a Dean's Scholar during her time at Pepperdine. While attending law school, Ilana was a member of the Advocates for Public Interest Law and the Jewish Law Student's Association.  While studying abroad in London, Ilana worked at a non-profit human rights organization.

Ilana completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2009. While attending college, Ilana was on the Dean's List and was a member of both the UCLA Psych Society and the Jewish Student Union.

Ilana’s mission in representing her clients is to always remain empathetic to their feelings through this difficult process. She says, "For the client, representation entails a high level of trust- trust in the system, trust in the advocate, and trust in the advocacy. My first goal is to gain the trust of my clients by being compassionate and understanding of the specific circumstances of their respective cases. My second goal is to strengthen that trust by ensuring my clients understand the legal progress, both in theory and in practice. The distinction can be crucial." Ilana makes it her focus to not only provide the best legal representation, but to also offer her clients something that is so often missing through this legal process, understanding.

Ilana is a Los Angeles native who was raised in Beverly Hills, California.  She attended high school at Beverly Hills High, and graduated a year early at 17. She is an animal lover, adopting a dog named Winston and an orange tabby cat named Babou, and is a lover of the performing arts.  Ilana has four siblings; she is the middle of five.
