Lauren M. Lookofsky is a Partner at Kermisch & Paletz LLP, where she focuses her practice on family law, appeals, probate, and other civil litigation. Admitted to the State Bar of California in 2010, she has been practicing and honing this expertise for more than 15 years. Ms. Lookofsky has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Southern California Rising Star for three consecutive years (2019–2021), an honor awarded to a select group of outstanding early-career attorneys.
Ms. Lookofsky has been certified to serve as minor’s counsel in family law proceedings, a distinction that reflects her commitment to advocating for the best interests of children in complex and often sensitive matters. She is also a speaker on family law topics, including high-stakes “move-away” cases, demonstrating both her depth of knowledge and thought leadership in the field.
She earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2010, where she served as a staff writer and Production Editor for the Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review. During law school, Ms. Lookofsky was a founding member and the first Acting Secretary of the Animal Legal Defense Fund chapter, and she remained actively involved in organizations such as the Women’s Law Association and the Entertainment and Sports Law Society. She also dedicated her time as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistant, providing valuable services to underserved communities.
Ms. Lookofsky received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Political Science, from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2006. While at UCLA, she was an active member of Alpha Phi sorority, serving as Fraternity Captain and leading philanthropic initiatives supporting women’s heart health. She also broadened her global perspective through study abroad at the University of Sussex in Brighton, England. Her longstanding commitment to service is reflected in her volunteer work with animal rescue organizations.

A Los Angeles native, Ms. Lookofsky was raised in the San Fernando Valley and is a graduate of Calabasas High School. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and staying current on developments in all fields of law. She is deeply devoted to her daughter and her dog, Eleanor.
