Kassandra Velasquez,Esq.

Kassandra joined Kermisch & Paletz LLP as an associate attorney in 2020. Kassandra prides herself on providing down-to-earth advice while simultaneously being a fierce advocate for her client’s rights. Prior to her transition to family law, Kassandra worked as an associate at a personal injury law firm.

Kassandra’s stint in personal injury armed her with invaluable skills related to case management, client interaction, motion practice, and discovery. However, after a first-hand experience with the family court system, Kassandra made the decision change legal fields in order to assist people that needed guidance with the family law case. Kassandra’s passion for family law has grown consistently over the years and she remains steadfast in her commitment to her clients.

During law school, Kassandra was a dedicated student in the evening program at Loyola Law School. Kassandra pursued her legal education while working full time as a law clerk at a civil litigation firm. In law school, Kassandra also worked as a research assistant for a Loyola Law School professor, sat on the board of the Evening Student Bar Association, and provided pro-bono services at a domestic violence clinic in San Pedro.

Prior to law school, Kassandra attended Loyola Marymount University and dedicated her time to her love of history. In Kassandra’s final undergraduate year, she narrowed her academic focus on the Civil War and participated in a student-curated museum exhibit focused on Civil War artifacts. Kassandra had the honor of presenting her research at the Loyola Marymount University Undergraduate Research Symposium.

As a Los Angeles native, Kassandra is a perpetual lover of the beach. When she is not advocating for her clients, Kassandra spends her time cooking, reading, and travelling with her rescue dog, Blue.
